Maybe This Year
I'll be thankful for a new layout. It's been snowing all day here, so it's high time. Goodbye to summer and hello to a long, cold winter that I'll spend safely indoors bending wires and coming up with inane new ways to connect things. By the end of winter my house should be a subtle, pretty light show whenever I want it to be. And if the plastics experiment I have curing on the back table works out I'll be labeling myself a genius as it will open up another category of materials to be incorporated. I get frustrated and burnt out from time to time, but I really love what I'm doing.
Oh yeah, I won a really fantastic prize at instructables. You should check out all the winners, because there is some excellent stuff in there!
Slacking/Updates/Etc
I know I haven't been as up to date on this blog as I should, but I've been working a lot and by the computer much less. I only need a few more hours a day and I should be able to get everything done. But for now I should tell you that I have over 3400 LEDs on their way to me, as well as a whole lot of other electrical bits and pieces. I'm working on a lot of different projects right now, and I have notebooks bursting with sketchs and plans. I'm meticulously documenting it all, and I'll be sharing lots of how-tos as I finish things. I'm lamenting the time it takes for parts to get here from China, but on the scale I'm working it's totally worth the delay.
On a related note, if anyone reading this runs/knows of a gallery looking for installations I've got some ideas that I'm DYING to get out into the world. Send me an email!
Austin Pictures
My sister posted a bunch of nice pictures from our trip to Austin on the blog we share. You should look at them:

Robot Documentation
In case you happen to be interested (and to be honest you would be a bit of a geek if you were, but that's probably why you're here) all of the documentation I have finished so far on my painting robot can be located in one central location. This includes the how I did it, videos, why I'm taking it to Maker Faire, etc. I'm working out some more programs (including some that show off the more representational skills it has) and I'll keep posting stuff as I get it done. I'll also be improving the design of the page, but that's neither here nor there.
